The Room of Borrowed Light
The room contained no lamp, window or reflective surface, yet its walls held a soft steady light. The illumination grew brighter when the crew spoke about people and dimmed when they discussed equipment.
The Helix Saint archivist found a line of genetic diagrams scratched beneath the paint. The diagrams were incomplete and did not match any current origin. The Luminary observer refused to illuminate them directly, saying the room had already chosen what it wished to reveal.
The door was sealed with the diagrams untouched. The report names the light stable. The crew calls it selective.
