The Museum of Weather

In a flooded municipal basement, the conservator found a row of weather records, children's drawings and handwritten letters sealed in wax against damp. The wax had failed in places, but not all at once. It had preserved some pages by sacrificing others.

MOTHER authorized full removal. The conservator returned with the documents and left the wax shells in place, arguing that the damaged protection was part of the record.

One recovered drawing shows a building beneath a yellow sky and a note in a child's hand: we will know where the rain goes when it comes back.

The archive has not yet released the image. No one has decided whether a recovered memory belongs first to the people who can display it or the place that kept it alive.
