The Day MOTHER Blinked

For 1.8 seconds, every clock in AFTERSEED lost the same interval. No door opened. No system reported a fault. The exterior cameras, however, all recorded a brief change in light as if the sun had passed directly over the shell.

MOTHER's public record marks the interval as a synchronization correction. A council copy calls it the first time the Vault and the outside shared a moment without permission.

No one knows whether the outside changed or whether MOTHER stopped looking long enough for the change to be noticed.
