One returning worker carried a red filament wound through the sleeve, skin and protective harness without breaking. It tightened whenever the worker tried to remove it and loosened when another person spoke their name.

The Silkvein repairer cut the filament only after receiving consent. Beneath it, the wound had closed in a pattern that matched no standard repair technique.

MOTHER requested the filament for study. The worker kept it. The archive records the material as unclassified tissue and the repairer's note as a warning against calling every successful closure a cure.
