Fire in the Rain

Rain fell across a concrete basin while a line of blue fire moved along the surface without consuming anything. The Radborn team found no radiation spike, only a repeating pulse beneath the basin.

The Goldlungs review identified air pockets opening and closing under the rain. Each pocket released a brief flame when it reached the surface.

The team did not drain the basin. They returned with a map of the fire's pauses. MOTHER's report calls the phenomenon self-limiting. The field copy says it was not burning through the rain; it was using the rain to find the places where the ground still breathed.
