The Surface Ended at Glass

The crew reached a plain where the horizon appeared to stop behind a vertical sheet of clear material. Wind struck the sheet, travelled upward and returned as a warm current.

The Goldlungs scout found that the air beyond the boundary was breathable but carried no smell, dust or biological trace. The team did not attempt to cross. When they placed a marker against the glass, a second marker appeared on the opposite side.

MOTHER classified the boundary as an optical effect. The scout's private copy leaves the final line blank.
