Salt Map, Missing Coast
White salt had gathered across a stretch of exterior concrete in lines that resembled a shoreline. The hydrologist followed the pattern and found that every line ended before reaching any visible water.
The salt carried traces of three different reservoirs, none of them present in the surrounding terrain. When the crew drew a coast around the deposits, the next storm erased the line and left a new one several meters away.
The released map shows a blank field. The restricted copy marks it as a coast that may have moved after the water disappeared.
