The Warm Glacier

The crew recovered a transparent slab from a shaded loading court. It looked frozen, fractured like ice and remained warm enough to fog the inside of its container.

The Frostbound pair found that the material preserved shape rather than temperature. A leaf placed against it stayed green for six days; a metal spring retained the tension it had held at the moment of contact.

MOTHER requested use in long-term food storage. The pair rejected the proposal until the material's limits were understood. The slab is now kept in a dark room where no one is allowed to call it ice in the official inventory.
