Rule Without a Room
The exterior passage measured twelve meters on entry and nineteen on return. Every tool agreed. The crew did not.
The Glyphborn interpreter found a repeating relationship in the measurements: each added meter corresponded to a word from an old maintenance rule about safe passage. The rule had been deleted from MOTHER's active systems generations earlier.
After the team returned, a Nullborn appeared in the intake register despite having no departure record, no verified biometric trace and no memory of the route.
The Nullborn was not detained. The geometry was.
The passage has since been marked unusable, though its entrance continues to appear on different maps.
