An Archive That Answered Twice

An unnamed exterior crew recovered an emergency beacon from a roadside mast. At the inner archive, an Echoes witness and a Glassmind analyst reviewed its short evacuation instruction in an old regional dialect: proceed west, keep children close, do not use the bridge.

When the Echoes witness replayed it, they remembered a second sentence that did not exist in the recorded audio: the bridge has already learned your weight. The Glassmind analyst found a pressure pattern in the damaged file that could plausibly support either reading.

Neither version could be proven. Both produced a different surface route.

The team submitted both reports instead of a final interpretation. MOTHER stored the beacon as unstable evidence. The road remains unclaimed, not because nobody wants it, but because no one can agree which warning it gave.
