Quiet Spill, Outer Relay Basin
The relay basin had been fed by a slow exterior leak for an unknown number of years. Its water showed no ordinary heat signature and no predictable radiation pattern. A handheld sensor returned safe, unsafe and blank readings in a repeating sequence.
The Radborn team refused MOTHER's first instruction to drain the basin before sampling. They entered in pairs, carrying the readings inside their own bodies long enough to establish that the contamination was layered, not random.
One member returned with a new line of blue-white light along the throat. Another lost all reading in one eye for nine days, then began seeing a faint pulse in sealed water systems across the Vault.
The official conclusion calls the basin contained.
The team's private note says: contained is not the same as understood.
