Salt in the Sky

At the top of a broken tower, the crew found salt suspended in the air above the cloud line. The crystals moved in a slow ring and fell only when the hydrologist approached.

The Goldlungs review found the surrounding air breathable but chemically old, as if it had travelled through several closed rooms before reaching the sky.

The team brought back one crystal. It dissolved into ordinary water inside the Vault and left no salt behind. The route remains marked not as a source, but as a place where the air briefly remembered the sea.
