The Mirror That Wasn't

An exterior camera returned an image of a person standing beside a road marker. The image showed clothing, posture and a shadow, but the space where a face should have been contained only the colour of the sky.

The camera had no active route connection. A Veilborn observer reviewed the file and found that each attempt to sharpen the image removed another detail from the surrounding road.

The file was sealed before any identity could be assigned. The observer's note says the image may not conceal a person; it may conceal the act of being seen.
