The Plague Eaters isolated the material in their own containment chambers. The Mycelial cell found that the filaments were not a single organism; they were a temporary bridge between several kinds of residue.

The sample was neutralized before the Vault could test whether it had a useful function. The public notice calls the rain contaminated. The sealed addendum says contamination may be the wrong word for a living thing that only exists while several dead systems overlap.
