An old drainage channel crossed the exterior shell and vanished under a blackened industrial district. The water inside it moved slowly but carried no visible rain source.

The Oozeborn guide followed the flow by sensing where its density changed. Their live imaging showed a fine network growing along the channel wall, separating heavy contaminants into layered deposits without clearing them away. The Mycelial analysis cell identified the pattern from inside AFTERSEED.

MOTHER proposed a recovery operation. The team refused immediate extraction; removing the deposits could release what the network had spent decades holding still.

Their report is unusually direct: the surface does not owe the Vault its cleanup. A poisoned place can contain work without becoming a resource claim.
