Where the Root Found Wire

In the split foundation of an old transit yard, a living root system had wound itself through abandoned copper cable. It did not consume the wire or avoid it. It grew around every break, turning the cable into a branching frame.

The Verdant field keeper recognized a small ecosystem already using the damage as shelter. A Blackseeder review later recognized a dormant pattern in the return data. Neither review supported MOTHER's request for a sample large enough to reproduce the system below.

They took only a soil reading and a light record.

The official archive calls the decision incomplete science. The field note calls it the first exterior life encountered by AFTERSEED that had not asked to become useful.
